This session has me like…Gahhh!!! What’s that Cover Girl slogan…”Easy, Breezy, Beautiful”…THAT is all I can come up with to describe this session, and each of these moments. So much love between this family, has me speechless.
So I am a little obsessed with cake smashes lately. Although I think I always have been but this has definitely been the year of the cake smash. Everyone is turning ONE and it makes me so happy!! What else makes me happy, although bittersweet, is that I did Miss T’s newborn pics. So hard to believe it’s been a YEAR!!! SERIOUSLY! Where does time go?!?! So needless to say this session was super special to me. And I also got to meet the man in her life (bonus), which you can tell by the way she lights up, that she loves him to pieces.
A couple things I learned about Miss T…
- She does not like grass (like at all)!
- She can deceitfully dig a hole in the back of a cake without anyone knowing.
- She loves to laugh at me after I take a picture of her not smiling…like a serious I got you giggle as soon as I turn my back!
- She shivers and makes the most adorable face while she does it!
- Oh, and she acts like she’s really sleepy right before devouring a cake and covering herself head to toe!
So despite the fact that it had absolutely down-poured the morning of this shoot (I know shocking right?!) it actually turned out to be a gorgeous night. Despite being buggy and humid to the point of dripping sweat, it looks great in pics! And the props for the cake smash are an Etsy cart full! The crown on the cake, the headbands and the idea of the garland around the high chair. Oh and that to die for high chair provided by Lost and Found Vintage Rentals and the gorg cake by ele. It was a dream. I’m so in love and I think I will just keep starring at them the rest of the week!
“Lucky One”! Sweet Baby “R” is ONE on, none other than, St. Patty’s Day! What better way to celebrate turning one than with a cake smash. Gold, glitter, shamrocks, cakes and balloons… what more could a girl ask for?! This was probably the easiest cake smash in the history of cake smashes. I think from start to finish we were done in a little under an hour. We got amazing pics and Miss “R” was super cooperative even after not feeling the greatest. Once she was all dolled up in her perfectly coordinating outfit with the perfectly coordinated backdrop Miss “R” had no problem digging into the cake! And once she figured out how to tip that little cake over, it was…well…over! Her Mom and Nana kept telling me about these dimples and once I got a few smiles from her I saw what they were talking about and they are to die for!! And those eyes…seriously those big blue eyes! What girl wouldn’t kill for those blue eyes and dimples. Miss “R” you are one lucky girl! Happy First Birthday!!!
Miss Karli…gorgeous Karli. Karli is graduating next year from Clinton Massie. I had the honor of photographing her brother’s Senior pics years ago which was one of my favorite sessions still to this day. So it was nice to see the family again and chat. I miss being this age with the whole future ahead of you. When I first met Karli a couple years ago she was into photography. Now she has since changed her interests and wants to pursue being a makeup artist. I have a special place in my heart for artists. I think we all have a crazy desire to be good and crafty at everything we possibly can. I envy Karli’s age and the fact that she gets to decide what path to travel but knows that she needs to follow her desire to create. In my building we have a stray cat that just wonders around to everyone’s studios. This cat was so drawn to Karli. Then at the park the dogs were drawn to her as well and THEN at the last location…a snake!! He was hanging out right underneath her!! Her mom and I think she’s an animal whisperer. So Karli if your artist career ever gets boring, being a vet is right up your alley.
Karli and her mom were serious troopers. I swear all Summer long it was mild, cool temperatures but as soon as its time to do her pics it’s 1,000 degrees and our biggest concern is melting makeup. It was seriously so hot. My studio has no A/C so just to stand in it was stifling. The only positive element on our side was that it was cloudy and the sun wasn’t there to make it even worse. But we made the best of it and had a blast. When we left for a location change we drove about 15 mins but around the time we got there with the clouds so heavy the sunlight was going away quickly. We were able to capture a few pics but ended up having to come back another day. And the final outcome of those pics are awesome!! Love the way this entire session turned out.
Good Luck Karli! I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for you!
Meet Weston. He is a Senior Hockey player at Springboro High School, Go Panthers! Photographing Weston was a blast! I have to say that one of my favorite parts of Seniors is the Moms. So hanging out with Mom and Weston totally made my day. Witnessing the dynamic between Mother and Son is incredible. I have yet to meet two that do not get a long other than adorable bickering. The mother-son bond is something that you can’t put into words and I hope I always have that bond with my boys.
Weston is super stylish so outfit selection was a breeze. Everything paired perfectly with the outside of my stuido. I feel so at home there. The lighting, the architecture, the history…I just love it! Change of location for the more formal look to the Dayton Art Institute, again another perfect pairing with the white suit, sorry white jacket with jeans! Fantastic look!
I am honored to be a part of your senior photography experience. Thank you for choosing me, trusting me with this moment. I cannot wait for round 2, Hockey!!!
This headshot session was SO much fun! If you’re in need of an update, my studio has the perfect setup. And makeup/hair artist a phone call away. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc. We all need to make a great first impression.
It’s official! My love for newborns is back! There are babies, babies everywhere and I cannot get enough. They are precious beyond measure. I always loved the baby stage much more than the toddler stage and getting to hold and snuggle these sweet little babes just makes my day.
I love posting the discreet boudoir pics. Without even seeing her face you know she’s drop dead gorgeous! Every boudoir client I have is super, super nervous. Scared of their own insecurities but by the end the fear and the insecurities are gone. All glammed up for a day. Hair done, makeup done, champagne and beautiful pics! What more could a girl ask for? Oh and a man that loses his mind over the pics, yeah that’s a bonus.
Fell in love with this little family. They are so sweet, kind, loving and quiet. Everywhere we walk they are all holding hands, how cute is that?!?! Seven year old little K is so opposite from the seven year old’s I am around all the time. The ones I see are always yelling and running around crazy (MINE). Miss K is poised, quiet and her posing is spot on! Her Mom is a photographer so she is very seasoned in posing for the camera. I would turn around and her pose was formed, feet lined up, held tilted smile on! She was adorable. This session was a reschedule after our initial night had a lot of rain and was really overcast. This night was beautiful, absolutely perfect. My favorite pictures from this entire session are the blanket ones. This was Mom’s Grandmother’s quilt. It made the session in my opinion :). So fun to incorporate it. Oh and their little toes, I love feet pictures!!
I AM HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE WITH THIS SESSION!!!! I soooo wish I would have had this moment with my daughter. Photography has grown so much even in just a small amount of time. I love the lifestyle feel of this shoot. I think Mom and I both were wanting a portrait session but we just let go and let Miss P take over. And that she did! Makeup, heels and rollers = total blast for a 2 year old. She put rollers in her moms hair, wore her heels and jewelry, put makeup on her and made some crazy fun faces. Such a wonderful moment to cherish forever!
